Crab sukka




Ingredients:
Crab                       :750 gm
Coconut oil            :3-4 tbspn
grated coconut       :1 bowl
red onion                :1big, finely chopped
turmeric powder     :1/2 tspn
garam masala pwdr : 1/2 - 1 tbspn or to taste 

kokam dry pieces    : 3-4


mustard                  : 1/2 tspn
dry red chilly          : 5-6
methi seeds             : very few(10-15 seeds)
coriander seeds       :3 tspn

Method:
  • Dry roast dry chilly, methi seeds, mustard and coriander seeds for 1-2 mins on medium. cool and put in to a mixer to make fine powder without adding water. Take it out in a mixing bowl
  • Wash and break the crabs , keep aside  




  • heat coconut oil in wok, add onions and sauté till translucent
  • In a mixing bowl, add grated coconut, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt and also the dry blended powder. Mix all together to make a mixture
  • Now add the crabs into the onion. Give a quick stir and immediately add the mixture. cook on medium with a lid on for about 8-10 mins. stir occasionally
  • Crab gets cooked evenly from inside absorbing the moisture from coconut and onions.
  • Crab sukka will be ready to serve along with rice and fish curry
